My Summer Highlights!

This summer has been full of surprises and adventure. But the best part is that it has been full of family.

We spent some time with my sister and her family.

It was great to just soak up the sun and slow down a bit.

We spent almost a whole day at the pool!

Then we headed off to the zoo the next day.


Katie as a turtle, Kelsey riding away! The girls had a blast at the zoo. It was a time to reflect on all the creatures that God made.

This was one of the sights that I loved most. As we were traveling along the bland Texas road way from East to West Texas, there are all these windmills. The girls had been so good on this trip. The windmills made them even better, For miles they stared out the windows, shouting out each time they saw a new set.

As we were driving along we saw a cow in a bikini. Had to get a close up.

The Palo Duro Canyon

We were about 30 minutes away and I could not pass this up. I have to admit that it was far better than what I thought it was going to be. We hope to go back to this park for camping someday. Thats how good it was.

getting to spend time with my mom this summer was very special.

My mom was in a car accident in April, she was not in very good shape.

But God had other plans with her, and I am so glad he does. I love my mother!

The Girls have made many friends here at Seminary, we know that we will all part ways some day but pray that they will all rejoin some day in Heaven!

"G"ods "P"lan "S"alvation

This years Summer Week of Choir back home at Lakeside was GPS - Gods Plan of Salvation... it was Kelsey's 3rd year but Katie's 1st year to be a part of the big event. Every year, they put on an amazing performance and the kids really spend the whole week learning both the songs to the performance and also bible verses. Possibly leaving for the mission field in several years, it was such a blessing to see both the girls getting to participate "together" in such a glorifying event. The week was also spent amongst some great friends, the Koens. We really enjoyed spending the week with them, as God used the fellowship for both us and the kids.

Kelsey put on her performance! She was really getting into the moves Sunday night, each kid learned how to use the evange a cube and it was awesome to see Kelsey go out into the church and share the gospel with someone!

Katie got chosen to do a special part, she was Hannie Fontanie! It was a special song that showed how people like Hanna Montana & other famous people have been turned into idols just like the golden calf with Aaron!

Robin since she has the week off now, she was able to help out during the week with SWOC and spent some time extra time with other women from the church that she hasn't been able to see in awhile because of her past work schedule. It was such a blessing to see her being hands on and just enjoying being a part of the project.... you can see it right there in her smile!

Reflection

Looking forward in amazement! Looking back, just as amazing.... our friendship with the Lasiters! They have left Southwestern on the next journey of their life. What a blessing we have in Jesus! Without Him, we would have never meet, with Him we will meet again! As we looked through our pictures, we couldn't help but think of some great memories that will last a lifetime... here's to you Lasiters whereever you might be right now!

Driving away was very difficult to watch! Could only imagine what was going through "all" their minds...

I was probably the biggest guy there, and was the first to start crying! As I walked to the up to the house it hit me like a ton of bricks, going to miss my buddy!

We loved being a part of their ministry... they always shared in the blessings of being able to show the love of Jesus! They really were great examples to their street, and to US!

Never thought we'd get Johanna on this ride! Even at the last minute she almost chickened out, maybe she talked herself into it saying, superman ride is so tall, maybe I'll get to see where God is leading from up there!

Wettness! The only thing better than walking around an amusement park dripping, getting chaffed, and thinking about how cold its going to be in the car on the way home with the air conditioner blowing..... is doing it with the people you love!


Our first time to have the kids over, Steve & Johanna were getting away for the night, we made some awesome pizzas! But most of all we were able to really bond with the kiddos!

Katie & Emma.. what can you say two little girls just hit off! They really enjoyed playing with each other, especially watching movies together! Kelsey and Elizabeth, a special relationship for Kelsey, she really looked up to Elizabeth because she was several years older than her, but really played with Kels not treating her like she was a "little girl". Noah & Kelsey got along great too, because they were closer in age, neither were old enough to say uggghh girl/boy. For me (Josh), it was a blessing to see Noah grow, not in the size of his body, but in the size of his heart. I watched a boy who in the beginning was just like the average boy, turn into a blossoming son of Christ. I don't have any sons, but I'm so proud to have known Noah.
In the beginning... was the Mensingers, and the Mensingers meet with the Lasiters, and the families became one. This picture was the first pics with the Lasiters. A special night celebrating 100 years of SWBTS. This is what Southwestern is all about, learning more about Christ, expierencing more of Christ, and growing in Christ with the people you love. We will miss you... our Friends... Steve... Johanna... Elizabeth.... Noah.... & Emma.
