Robins New Adventure

My story.... I have been in a Monday through Friday job for the last 14 months here in Fort Worth. I have ridden the train daily to Dallas, worked an 8 hour day, then spent another hour on the train coming home. I leave at 6 AM and arrive home at 6 PM. After 14 months of this I am so ready to see my family more and to just be home more.
I was able to quit this job last week and took a position here in Fort Worth. I now work Saturday and Sunday 6 AM to 10 PM. It is tough, but well worth it to be a Mom and Wife and Homemaker 5 days a week. Then Josh and the kids have those two days together, when I am not here. I truly believe this is a gift from God... For them to have this Father , Daughter time.
Our plans are that I will be able to not work at some point. I plan to do everything I can to get us to that point in the next 2 years. I desire to be home and I really believe that is where I am needed most. I can not wait for the day to post the news that I not longer have to leave my home for a paying job.... There will be a day, with no more tears, no more pain and no more fears.... There will be a day.....

Katie Lost Her 1st Tooth!

Katie began to have her first loose tooth in early January. There was another tooth growing in behind the loose one. So it hurt her to wiggle the tooth. The only time it would get "wiggled" was when Dad or Mom did it for her. She was always scared of us touching the tooth, because of the pain. So... it took about 3 weeks to get one tooth out. After multiple times of Dad and Mom helping her, one morning we woke to find the tooth turning black. We all knew that this was the day to pull the tooth. Grandma Retta suggested Oral Gel for comfort, and Aunt Megan soothed her, while Dad held her hand and Mom did the pulling. The tooth popped out, Katie and Mom cried and all was well. I even heard Katie on the phone with Grandma bragging how Mom had pulled her tooth. What a joy it was to hear this.. I thought she was so mad at me. After three long weeks, here is our...

You know the whole AWANA craze started for us about 4 years ago in Canton, TX @ Lakeside Baptist Church. We had just became believers in Christ, and a great friend of ours was the commander of the Churches AWANA program. His name was Jerry Jones! He had such a passion for seeing kids learn God's Word and hide in their heart. Jerry passed away in March of 2005, he was a great Godly man, father to his children, husband to his wife, and friend to our family. Now here we are in Fort Worth, TX going to Seminary in order to equip ourselves for a lifetime of ministry. We have been AWANA leaders @ our new church, Birchman Baptist, for about a year and half now. God has really used us within the program to bring that same passion that Jerry had into thier program. What a blessing to see how God uses people to inspire us in our future ministries........... Thanks Jerry for following God's will in your life.
