This year Kelsey has been to two new schools including a Fort Worth public school, which was extremely large in comparision to coming from Grand Saline ISD. And a charter school that took her back to a smaller class and challenged her in the fine arts, where Kelsey took the leading role, Granny McFee, in the Christmas play. She is furthering her taste in art as she is recieving private art lessons once a week. With older age, comes many more religious questions, and as she seeks the answers from both of us, she is one step closer to what it means to live for Christ. Her age has really given her further oppurtunities in events within the Church
that is sparking intrest in Christ, including Lock-ins, Mother/Daughter conferences, Pre-Teen Summer Camps, and all the other awesome stuff.
Kelsey has had few close friends while moving here to Seminary, she has many friends but the problem is most are either younger or older than herself, to where it either makes her feel like she's to old, or to young to be able to relate. So this year for her birthday she invited some of her close friends from back home, Canton, and then a couple of the friends from her school that she has grown close to. Including Pheba, one of her newest best friends from the charter school. They have really bonded well, and while other kids have made it dificult for Kelsey, God gave her Pheba to help her get through her times of need where she felt as if she was all alone at this school.
Its been really special for Robin & Kelsey's relationship as Robin has taken this new job she has been able to really spend more time with Kelsey, and do the motherly things that she has always desired to do. Including is she stayed up all night making cupcakes, so she could surprise Kelsey at church and give cupcakes to all the girls in her AWANA group.
As this year goes on, our prayer and hope is that we continue to show her God's light, when everything else fades all the busyness, all the school changing, the moving, the friends, that Kelsey will be able to reconize God's light shinning bright as ever through our lives so that she knows that God was always there, always!
