Christmas 2009

Every year we have always been blessed by having others capture the happiness of our family, our first year was Megan, 2nd Cameron, and this year Arc. God has truly blessed us with the relationships we have here at SWBTS, but most of all He has blessed us with the relationship we have as a family. Our family this year is blessed as we are expecting a third child, a son! But truly the greatest Christmas present we recieved was the peace of Christ as He continues to provide in ways that cause us to continuelly rely upon Him.

Katie's 7th Birthday

Our Katie is now 7, it was really cute about a week before her birthday, I told her I wanted a really big hug because it would be the last time I would get to hug her as a 6 year old, later that night she told me, "daddy, you can still give me hugs when I'm 7, it will be ok", it was so cute.
Robin, went to the Thrift store and bought pillow cases for .50 and painted mermaid fins on the front so the kids could have mermaid sack race at the party, it was a blast for all the kids!

Robin put so much time into this party, with decorations, planning, and even doing her first cake like this!

Katie had special guests at her party from our friends the Lasisters as they skyped online right at the moment we were singing happy birthday to her, it was their special surprise to her, it was 6am in India. Later Katie said after thinking back on it, "That was really special".
This was the mermaid crown crafting table, along with the goldfish snacks, along with all Katie's friends from Seminary.
Her special birthday, Mermaid Crown, she made...

Did I mention this all took place "under the sea" ,

Grandma Rhodda sent Katie some money for her birthday so she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese and spend it on some fun games, this is her favorite ride there, its a roller coaster simulator.

This is the birthday cake, complements of Robin Mensinger, all homemade!

We got Katie all this Polly Pocket stuff on one lot on Ebay! We got "all" this for the price of 3 new dolls at Wal-Mart...
Robin got up really early that morning and cooked Katie pancakes and we sang her happy birthday together as a family, before I had to go to classes. We love you Katie, Happy Birthday

Fall Festival

So we have been visiting Travis Ave Baptist Church for several months now, and they had a family get together that the Senior adults put on for the Couple's classes for the parents who have children. It was really special because usually its the parents with children having to work fall festival events and events where they should be with their children, but here they stepped up to the plate and gave us parents the oppurtunity to really enjoy our families and be there with our kids.

This is the result of complaining that, "there wasn't enough pictures taken of me" so it was a surprise pick that totally brought laughter in the vehicle on the way home!
Carving pumkins never a boring moment! Why is that dad's usually end up with the difficult cutting process after the kiddos have poked 375 holes through their designs and expect you to get it cut out right!

Katie was Little Mermaid this year, orginally she wanted to be Pocohantas but changed her mind when they found this mermaid outfit at a Thrift Store.

They had this really cool balloon room, it was like a small bedroom and it was filled with balloons so you crawled in the room and you were surrounded by ballons all around and up & down, one of the cool rooms to go in.

Kelsey wanted to be a girl from India this year, so she has the wrap (actually it was her curtain in her room, her idea to help us save money), we did some henna on her hand & foot and then she's wearing these huge gauti silver arabian looking ear rings that totally fit the part.

Tattooing The Mensinger Family & a White...

We took a trip to the Arabic Grocery Store this week and found some Henna paste in the cone ready for tattooing... so the girls got brave, including Robin's mom who was visiting, and Josh did the designs on the girls! Robin's foot below has the Arabic word Peace inside the diamond!

Lisa always wanted a butterfly tattoo, so that's what she got right above her flower!
Katie is a natural ballet dancer now, so she is posing in the 1st postion if you didn't know! ha-ha

Kelsey is getting a head start on her halloween costume as she will be dressing up as a girl from India.

The Master Artist at work, I have to admit, it was very relaxing just drawing on the hands and taking my time, if I wasn't going to be a preacher maybe I would be a tattoo artist! ha-ha

Being 30 Never Felt So Good!

Wow, what an amazing life to live! I turned 3o last week, when I was in my 20's I was so scared of what would come when I was 30, you have to know I wasn't a Believer at that time in my life. But now, following my Lord where ever He has lead me, and just being in His presence with my hands lifted HIGH!! How grateful I am to have my family beside me, and two beutiful girls and another child on the way, and awesome help meet who loves me unconditionally in the eyes of our Lord! But most of all, the gratefullness to be in relationship with my God, I couldn't ask for anything more.
If you want to know how you too can feel this passion, please pause the music at the side of the blog, and play this video below....

We are proud to introduce the newest member of the Mensinger Family.. Of course theres no name pinned down yet, but he/she is scheduled to be born April 22, 2010; of course only God knows exactly! We are very blessed just as the Scripture says,

"Psalm 127:3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him."

My Summer Highlights!

This summer has been full of surprises and adventure. But the best part is that it has been full of family.

We spent some time with my sister and her family.

Sherri and Tanner

Katie, Kelsey, Jayden and Cadance.

Cousins, that finally get the chance to play together.

Katie and Kelsey hanging by the pool.

It was great to just soak up the sun and slow down a bit.

We spent almost a whole day at the pool!

Then we headed off to the zoo the next day.

Katie as a turtle, Kelsey riding away! The girls had a blast at the zoo. It was a time to reflect on all the creatures that God made.

This was one of the sights that I loved most. As we were traveling along the bland Texas road way from East to West Texas, there are all these windmills. The girls had been so good on this trip. The windmills made them even better, For miles they stared out the windows, shouting out each time they saw a new set.
As we were driving along we saw a cow in a bikini. Had to get a close up.

The Palo Duro Canyon

We were about 30 minutes away and I could not pass this up. I have to admit that it was far better than what I thought it was going to be. We hope to go back to this park for camping someday. Thats how good it was.

getting to spend time with my mom this summer was very special.
My mom was in a car accident in April, she was not in very good shape.
But God had other plans with her, and I am so glad he does. I love my mother!
